Expert race photographer Susan Morning was out shooting our opening races at Mammoth on Dec. 3-4. Teddy Cantanho

Teddy Cantanho was 89 years young when her heart gave out in June 2011. Teddy was a joyous, cheerful, engaged lady who has been an inspiration to many us in the Far West Masters. Her love of ski racing and enjoyment of every day on the hill can be a goal for all of us to follow. Her daughter Thea shared a photo of Teddy at the 1995 national championships at Alyeska, AL, where Teddy won the SL.

Race Photos (2009-2010)

Tommy Compton of Reno came up to shoot the pre-Christmas SL races on Sunday Dec. 20 at Squaw Valley and came up with some great race photos posted on his AlpenGlow Images web site at www.thomascompton.com. He's been shooting many of our races; info is provided on his site on obtaining photos.

Dave Phillips

Dave Phillips was a new racer with Far West Masters this year. The photo below was taken on a beautiful January day at the Sierra at Tahoe GS race - Dave's looking good and going for it!! Sadly, Dave suffered a heart attack after the race. We share the sadness of his family and friends and will miss him on the hill.

Far West's Reed Robinson was named in February to the 2006 US Paralympics team which will be competing in Torino, Italy. Here are some shots from his 2nd place finish in the GS at the US Disabled Nationals in Winter Park.
