President’s Message: January 2, 2026
by Rees Palermo
As I sit here on this dreary, rainy New Year’s Day morning, I ponder: what the conditions will be like at the Sugar Bowl races, January 10-11? Actually, the weather report looks great! It should be clear and cold. And, we may have a few days of snow between now and then with a sunny day just before that weekend.
But, you haven’t had enough training? No one has! This isn’t the World Cup. Lower your expectations and get out there and participate! Personally, I always learn something at a race, or at least something that I once knew is refreshed in my mind.
Join in the competition, put yourself out there, find some camaraderie, and enjoy the experience. It will help you to appreciate how amazing Shiffrin and Vonn are. And, aren’t they something?! Should be a very interesting Olympic Games just a month from now.
Have you looked at the clothing with the Far West Masters logo on it? Some good stuff, and it really does help promote our program.
For the new year, I wish everyone good health and good success!
Enjoy getting together with friends, and find happiness in belonging to this group.
See you out there!
